Jana Herzen Releases Single in Honor of Surfing Legend Rell 'Kapolioka'ehukai' Sunn's 70th Birthday

A folk-meets-reggae-meets jazz & jam band single that tells the bigger than life story of Hawaiian legend Rell Kapolioka'ehukai Sunn (1950-1998), a pioneer of women's surfing,  known as "Queen of Makaha" and "Aunty Rell."  She began surfing at four, became a top-ranked pro in the 1970s and '80s, and was loved internationally as an ambassador of the Aloha culture of grace and warmth. At age 32, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and told she had just a year or two to live, she legendarily lived life to the full for fifteen more years. Listen to the song here.
